Neermoor/Butter milk-Traditional summer special drink

Ingredients:
Curd
1 cup
Water
¼ cup
Salt
For taste
Green chilli

Ginger
1 inch piece

How to make neermoor:
  • Crush or chop the green chilli, ginger and curry leaves finely.
  • Add this with curd along with water and salt.
  • Mix it well and serve after ½ an hour.

How to make kollu podi:
  • Roast the horse gram till the burst sound appears.
  • Roast the cumin seed also the asafoetida separately.
  • Roast the red chilli in oil.

Poondu legiyam/Garlic lehyam–Medicine for acidity


Garlic Legiyam is an excellent remedy for acidity, improves digestion also enhance the secretion of breast milk supply. This can be given to any age group.
Especially for nursing mother its good if they have a tsp twice daily which will help to secret milk without any prescribed medicine also protect babies from acidity, indigestion problem. This is recommended to me by my grandmother also posting this after my own experience in nursing my baby. Will post more baby foods and home remedies in upcoming day whatever followed by me for lactation and postpartum.

Badam kheer/Almond milkshake– refreshing and healthy summer drink

Badam/Almond

How to prepare Badam kheer:
  • Soak the almond in warm water and peel the skin.
  • Add some milk and grind it into fine paste.
  • Then add the remaining and blend it frothy.

How to make Idiyappam:
  • Boil the water along with salt and oil for 5 minutes. Add little by little boiled water along with flour.
  • Mix this with spoon till it become soft dough.
  • Grease the idiyappa mould with sev plate. Take small portion of dough in the mould.
  • Grease the idli plate and squeeze the dough in circular motion above that.

  • Steam cook the idiyappam and serve with carrot, coconut, milk and sugar.

  • Blend the carrot, sugar, cardamom powder.
  • Add the chilled milk and ice cream. Blend it till they become frothy.

How to make Dry fruit Kheer
  • Soak the badam in warm water for half an hour and peel the skin.
  • Then soak the badam, cashew nut and dates in milk for few minutes and grind it with vanilla ice cream.
  • Now add cardamom powder along with this milk and serve it as such or chilled.

Sugar
2 table spoon(or more)
Crushed ice cube(optional)
¼ cup
Vanilla ice cream(otional)

How to prepare orange milkshake:
  • Stripe the orange skin and deseed it. (Remove the thin white film also)
  • Prepare the orange juice by adding sugar with this. Strain the juice in the strainer.
  • Along with this combine the milk, ice cream, crushed ice cube and blend in the mixer.
